We Do the Work from start to finish®
DPI is an Order Fulfillment Solutions provider primarily focused on helping our customers in the
analysis, design and implementation of the best possible storage, assembly, selection and conveying
systems for their distribution warehousing.
Since 1969, the earliest days of the development of material handling systems technology, the
founders of the company were deeply involved in the design and application of batch picking order assembly
systems. DPI’s work in the design and construction of Order Fulfillment systems has continued uninterrupted
to this day. Most of the projects developed by DPI not only involve the design of the storage and order assembly
systems, but also the planning of the complete distribution center and the integration of the conveyorized Order
Fulfillment system and Order Management & Control Software into the total facility operation.
In addition, whenever a new building is part of the overall plan, it is only logical that the building be designed
around the storage and the order assembly system. As a result, DPI often produces the general arrangement layout
for the new facility at the customer’s request. This, of course, requires that DPI be intimately involved in determining
the size of the new facility in order to satisfy projected future business volumes. These plans, when completed, are
supplied to their architects and become the basis for the development of the detailed building plans.
DPI is also actively involved in the improvement of existing material handling systems equipment, controls and
software, as well as the perfecting of application techniques. The result of this long history of involvement is
that DPI has the ability to analyze the pertinent data thus enabling us to develop the best concepts and complete
detailed plans and ultimately the installation and complete implementation of the best Order Fulfillment Solutions.

What do "they" do?
Consultant: A consultant “should” perform an in-depth analysis of your order profiles, SKU data, business rules
and growth projections and base the solutions on the analysis and their experience with order fulfillment implementations
and distribution warehousing operations. A consultant does not implement the solution and therefore is ultimately not
responsible for the results.
Distributor: A manufacturer’s distributor is the sales force and outlet for the manufacturer’s equipment.
Manufacturer: Manufactures and assembles equipment and either sells directly, through Distributors or both.
A system or solution from a manufacturer will include their equipment even though the best solution might not require
their equipment.
Systems Integrator: A company that sub-contracts or provides for all equipment and/or software needed for
a material handling system.
What does DPI do?
At times, DPI is a consultant, a distributor or a systems integrator but we prefer to be an Order Fulfillment Solutions
provider and work under a Design & Build agreement.
That means we would perform an in-depth analysis of your order profiles, SKU data, business rules and growth projections,
preparing an ROI analysis and then base the solution on the analysis. Then we design, engineer, procure, install, commission,
implement and support the solution. Sometimes the solution is only software. Sometimes the solution is software
and some shelving. Sometimes the solution includes some or all of the following:
mezzanine,
pallet rack,
pick module,
Pick-to-Light,
conveyor,
carton erector,
carton sealer,
dunnage machine,
software,
etc., all
working together. Each solution is unique, just like your business!
