DPI History

Founded in 1981 by four experienced material handling professionals, DPI has grown to become a leader in the analysis,
planning, engineering, implementation and support of Order Fulfillment Solutions for major companies in the United States
and the world. Today, DPI is dramatically increasing accuracy, on-time delivery and reducing the cost of Order Fulfillment
(usually by 50 to 70%), one company at a time.
DPI developed its material handling expertise by focusing on supermarket distribution, candy and tobacco wholesale, food
service distribution and the convenience market. DPI has since expanded that experience to include successful distribution
projects in such areas as direct marketing, catalog, internet, retailers, wholesaling, publishing, beauty/personal care,
office products, pharmaceuticals, scientific products, auto parts, Third Party Logistics, music and furniture.
DPI was founded on the cutting edge of material handling technology, and that discipline continues today. To
complement and drive various cutting edge technologies, we developed Direct ConneX® Order Management and Control Software
because Order Management is at the center of an overall efficient and productive Order Fulfillment Solution. Think of
Direct ConneX® as the “brains” that drives the appropriate equipment and technology. We want our clients to understand
that we are passionate about our business and experts at Order Fulfillment.
At DPI, 60 percent of our staff consists of highly experienced engineers, with an average of 13 years of hands-on distribution
and material handling experience. It is this team, joined by a veteran group of project and site managers that, to date, have
completed over 450 successful implementations.
